Clyde Avery

Clyde Roy Avery, 60, of Idaho Falls, passed away at his home Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012.
He was born Nov. 22, 1951, the youngest of five children born to Hannah Atheldia Palmer Avery and Ira Roy Avery. He was born and lived in Milo, Idaho, for most of his life.
He met Ellen Marie Cox while attending Ricks College and they were married in the Idaho Falls Temple in 1972. They settled into dairy farming.
Clyde was a member of the Intermountain Draft Horse and Mule Association. He loved horses, and especially loved mules and working with them.
Through the years, Clyde worked as a manager of Skippers Sea Food, and most recently as the van driver for Life Care of Idaho Falls.
Clyde was the proud father of six children and 12 grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Clyde loved being with people, especially his family and extended family.
He enjoyed camping and sports. Clyde coached many baseball teams through the years. He loved helping everyone and believed if you could help someone smile each day, then it was a good day.
Clyde is survived by his wife, Ellen Cox Avery; children, Stephen Avery, Sue-Ellen Tomlinson, Joseph Avery, Hanna Morgan, Patricia Gappmeyer and Henry Avery; 12 grandchildren; a sister, Idonna Sorenson; and sisters-in-law, Rosalee Avery and Marlene Jones.
Besides his parents, Clyde was preceded in death by brothers, Stanley Dee Avery and Charles Allen Avery; and a sister, NevaJane Avery.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Milo LDS Church, 12127 N. 75 East. The family will visit with friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Milo Cemetery.

Spud dig

Thank you to all of those who came out and helped, participated in and watch our play day! We had a great turn out and everyone seemed to have a good time!

It’s that time of year again, harvest time! Our next event will be our annual spud dig! We will be digging on Saturday October 13th, 2012 starting at 10:00 A.M (weather permitting. Watch the blog and your email if it’s bad weather)  in the field next to Reed’s Dairy (on West Broadway). There will be diggers available, so bring your team or even a single animal. Don’t have a team? Come watch or help pick spuds. There will be a pot luck lunch. The club will provide sloppy joes. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share.
